I came across this article in the web.  It took me by surprise to see a familiar name.  He was my doctor when I was just a kid and I am more than happy to know that he still continues to serve and share kindness to humanity.  More power to you PBM Sergio Resturo and so as the rest of your team!

TEAM RESTAURO GIVES FAR-FLUNG BARANGAY MEDICAL-DENTAL AID by: Xerxes Alkuino

First district Provincial Board Member Sergio Restauro and his team brought medical and dental services to the farthest of his constituents last July 17.

Barangay Cantularoy, a mountain village 25 kilometers away from the town proper of Sibonga, finally had its first medical and dental mission.  According to Barangay Captain Paulo Sarona, a mission was scheduled to be held in Barangay Poblacion, however, he was able to convince Restauro’s son, Gail, who is also the board member’s chief-of-staff, to bring the services to his barangay, instead.

“Tungod ni sa paningkamot ni Kapt. Paulo nga niadto gyud siya sa opisina sa Capitol ug nihangyo siya. Ug tungod usab sa gilay-on ug ang mga tawo diri compared sa mga tawo sa Poblacion panagsa ra maka-avail sa libreng medical ug dental nga serbisyo. Mao na’ng gi-una namo sila,” said Gail Restauro, who is also a medical technologist.

The younger Restauro said 150 residents availed of the free medical services, 30 for the dental and 80 persons took advantage of the free reading eyeglasses, which were donated by third district Representative Pablo John “PJ” Garcia.

Board member Restauro was the only doctor of medicine available during the activity. His wife, Laida, a dentist by profession, together with their daughter and four other private dentists, took charge of the free dental check-up.

Laida was very thankful to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and her brother, Cong. PJ, for the support. She and her husband had personally requested Garcia to provide for the stipend of the dentists, who are all private practitioners. Free medicines were also given to the patients, sourced out of Restauro’s legislative assistance fund.

Restauro stressed the importance of health and subscribed to the old adage that “health is wealth.”
“Ang pagbaton ug himsug nga panglawas, pagbaton ug bahandi. Mao na nga nia ko aron maminos ang mga tawo’ng masakit; makatabang ko sa mga tawo aron ang ilang kwarta nga i-gasto alang unta sa ilang pamilya dili ma-deviated sa mga tambal,” Restauro said.

The board member plans to hold medical and dental missions to all the 130 barangays in the first district. Cantularoy is the nineteenth barangay he has visited so far. Xerxes Alkuino
